Back in November 2021, I wanted to close out the year with a creative animation project that allowed me to explore new things and push the limits of my knowledge while having massive fun doing it. So I asked the question: What would it look like it the original Nokia 3310 was relaunched today?

Nokia Mobile always created compelling minimalistic 3D product commercials to launch their products so I decided to do same for the iconic Nokia 3310 while keeping the clean, minimalist approach.

Welcome to a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

DURABILITY

An outstanding feature of this iconic device is its durability. I came up with a comedic way to convey this message while keeping the viewers engaged. 

"The device is so durable that the Mjolnir, a mythical weapon of the thunder god Thor in Norse mythology, is unable to destroy it."

NOSTALIA

The project was geared to millennials that recognize and have used this legendary device. I made sure to include an ounce of nostalgia by showing some of their favorite games.

EXPLORING FULID SIMULATIONS

For the first time, I explored simulating fluids which has always been a challenge for me. It was an amazing experience researching and understanding how fluid physics works while experimenting a lot with several tests before creating the final shot.

TYPOGRAPHY

I used cleverly animated typography to call the viewers' attention all through the video with quick cuts that flowed perfectly with the music.

After completing the project, I tweeted the video at the official Nokia and they recognized the project in their tweet.
